Dettmann is a veteran photographer who has been in the film industry since decades. He has photographed Beyonce and Lady Gaga on the Red Carpet, as well as Margot Robbie and Olivia Colman. But his career is not all glamour and glitz. Unit photographers are often tasked with working late hours, in tight spaces and meeting tight deadlines. The artist remembers that on the last day of Junipero he fell asleep standing up. “I didn’t think it was possible,” he recalls.
But in the end it was all worth it when he knew he had captured something magic. Dettmann, in addition to his work on two episodes for Netflix and other shows, has worked on TV sets for Disney, BBC and others.
