Each month, the group staged a lavish tribute to a famous filmmaker. The subjects ranged from Walt Disney to Alfred Hitchcock, to George Lucas to Stanley Kubrick.
The duo chose their birthday boys in part because of their aesthetics, and also because they were able to easily obtain the items they needed for the celebration. However, they couldn’t resist their own tastes. Hargreaves chose Seth MacFarlane partly because he loves the movie Ted. The month of March also gave him the opportunity to pay tribute Quentin Tarantino.
Heffron, Hargreaves and their fans are devoted to each shot of Celebrated for You. The compulsive, crammed-to-the-brim table settings are filled with references that only the most seasoned of fans could recognize. The series is not so much a parody of fanatics as it is an ode to all those secret admirers that daydream about their favorite fictional characters.
