Art is everywhere. Whether it’s Dutch still-life paintings or advertisements for fast food, it’s all art.

The imagery we use has always been closely tied to the food that we consume. We asked you to send us photos that showed the strange and wonderful relationship between art and food. Alison Zavos is the Editor-in Chief at Feature Shoot. The winning collection was curated by Alison Zavos. We received a wide range of images that showed how far this theme could be stretched.

Instagram may be ushering in a new era of food art. While art has always been inspired by food and food has always been inspired by art, we might now be entering a new era of food art. Claire Catterall, director of exhibitions at Somerset House in London, supported this theory. In 2013, the house held an exhibition to honor the chef Ferran Adria. She said NPR: “People are more knowledgeable about food and more interested in it than they were 10 years ago.”

It seemed only fitting that we open a new Instagram account in conjunction with this group exhibition, if what NPR refers to as the “food-as-art” trend began on Instagram. World Chow is a new platform that accepts submissions for food. It’s curated by Feature Shoot editors. Follow @worldchow and tag your photos with #worldchow to submit your images.
